There is positive momentum and negative momentum. Are you
creating positive momentum in your life, drawing the things
you want in your life, or you pushing it away? Here are ten
suggestions (or reminders) to help you focus on what really
matters.

1. Take some time to decide what you want specifically to
clarify your future outcome. Success is seeing what you
want and taking decisive action towards your vision. What
is important to you? What is your passion? More
importantly, who will you become as a result of you
achieving your goals? How will your achievement contribute
to others?


2. Use visual reminders of your goals. Create a Vision
board and get some magazines and cut out pictures and words
related to your goals. Put them on a poster board and place
it where you can see them on a regular basis, like your
bathroom mirror, in your wallet, in your office, next to

3. Set clear and specific goals with realistic timelines.
Write down the goal, how you will know when you achieve it,
and the date you will achieve it. Example: By 1 Dec 2011
I will be making $15,000 a month post tax income.

4. Create a To List and a Stop Doing List to use your time
wisely. Make a daily to do list in the evening for the next
day to keep you on track with your goals. Not a general to
do list like you make when you go to the grocery store, but
a defined to do list. Example: Meditation 5am - 5:15am;
Workout 6:15 - 7:15 etc. The reason is simple; you don't
want to spend a lot of time on one specific thing and at
the end of the day nothing was accomplished. Make a Stop
Doing List to keep things of less importance from occupying
your time and focus: Example: Stop watching news in the AM.

5. Take action. When opportunity presents itself that
corresponds with your goals, don't hesitate, and take
action. Many times we overwhelm ourselves by looking at the
overall goal, instead of taking it one step at a time.

6. Celebrate the small success. Get into the habit of
celebrating the small successes during your journey toward
achieving your goals. Keep Score. It is in our nature to

the same towards your goals. Imagine how you felt when you
beat your previous score and how motivated you will be when
the score continues to improve. Understand that each small
accomplishment brings you closer towards your goals.

7. Fill your mind with inspiration. Read books, listen to
audio programs, and watch videos that educate, uplift, and
inspire you. Read and learn about people who have done what

8. Find a Mentor. Find someone that would add input,
support advice, feedback, and accountability to help you

9. Consistently review your goals weekly. Review your goals

10. Believe it's Possible. Many times people don't set
goals because they don't believe in themselves, they are
scared of failure, and what other people may think of them
when they fail. Most people fail not because they lack the
skills, training or aptitude to reach their goals, they
simply don't believe they can achieve it. Whatever your
vision is, you can achieve it, but it starts with believing
in yourself.

Meditation can bring a variety of benefits to your
life. You can use it to gain more energy, focus
your mind, relax your body, attain peace, rejuvenate
your spirit, and many other things.

Meditation is primarily a way to rest and
relax your mind.

Meditation allows your mind to go into a deeper, more
relaxed stage where you're more aware of your body and
surroundings.

There are various methods of meditation, but they all
focus on the main goal to quiet your mind and achieve
a state of inner calm.

Here are three simple strategies that can help you
get the most from your meditation:

1. Choose the best time and place. Because of our
different schedules and harried lives, not everyone
will find the same time best for them. The time of
day is not really so important as long as you pick a
time that works well for you.

- Choose a time to meditate when you won't have the
phone ringing or kids knocking on your door. To quite
your mind you need quiet in the home.Early morning is
the best time,as the worldly energy has been settled down.

- It's best to avoid times right before or after eating.

- Some people do well with 10 minutes of meditation
time while others need at least a half hour.

It's also important that you find a great place for
your meditation. You'll need an environment that's
both relaxing and quiet, so that nothing takes your
attention away from meditating.

- Turn off loud appliances, the television, and even
your phone, so you're not distracted or interrupted.

- Sometimes going outdoors can provide an inspirational
place for meditation.

- Setting a calm mood will help you meditate. Closing
the curtains, turning on soft light, or lighting your
favorite scented candle might help you relax.

2. Clear your mind. Even when we're still, our minds
continue to think. It's easy to allow the problems of
the day to come into your mind while you're trying
to meditate. It's important that you focus your
attention on meditating and work to clear your mind.

- Breathe deeply and concentrate on relaxing your
body. Picture each part of your body going limp as
you relax. With each breath, inhale peace and exhale
your worries.

- Envision a place that brings you happiness. This
place can be real or imagined as long as you're relaxed
and not thinking about your problems.

3. Find your inner peace. Find your place of inner peace
when you meditate. It's the place inside of you that's
quiet and far away from the cares of the world.

- When you're able to totally clear your mind, you can
usually bring yourself to a place where you truly feel
peace and happiness.

- Allow yourself to stay in this place for a while,
calming and relaxing your body and mind.

It's not hard to meditate. While it's more difficult
when you first get started, over time it becomes easier
and easier to reach your goal of finding peace and
relaxation.

Express your anger wiser. You can release and thus dissolve
your anger in breathing by changing the pattern from fast
chest superficial breathing to slow deep diaphragmatic
breathing. You can dissolve your anger into walking, into
running, into dancing, into singing, into exercising...
Whatever suitable way for your situation to express your
anger you choose, it will still be much better than the
suppression of your anger inside.

Realize that these two ordinary alternatives are the
polarities of one phenomenon. Suppression and expression
are two sides of the same coin. You still have another

a completely new person by making only a few changes.  You may remember last time when we gave an overall view of the process and what clear skin could do for us all.  The first thing you should always remember when you're thinking about clear skin is that clear skin is rooted in the mind.  The mind is what controls all biological functions - including skin cleansing.  And so if the mind is polluted so will the body be.  Fortunately you can use your mind to purify your body better than any skin cleanser.

Last time we covered the production of cortisol in our newsletter.  But there's another step to this that makes us either prone to breakouts or allows us clear skin.  And of course there is the issue of self image.  It's no secret that the stress from previous breakouts can cause future skin irritation.  And on days where you are less concerned with your appearance you feel better.  Aside from the obvious link about feeling worse when you're looking worse there's a cycle involved with appearance brought on by an intense obsession with image brought to us in the media.  One of the things our entrainment therapy  works to help with is that perception.  By being more relaxed and objective you can cast down the long shadows reaching into our minds to show us an ideal and yet paradoxically also attempting to wrestle control away from that process by casting doubt on our own personal appearance.  Of course this inevitably creates a spiral of self doubt and that doesn't help the issue either.

So by soothing your mind and ensuring your hormones do not run your life and ruin your skin, you can actually improve your own quality of living and make your journey through social situations not only easy, but also enjoyable.  It's strange to some who are so used to constantly checking themselves in the mirror to be doing so for different reasons.  That's one of the things we'll be covering in the next installment of our clear complexion guide.  Believe it or not there are things you can do after your skin clears up to ensure you maximize your results.  Once your skin clears up there is a great deal you can do to actually maintain the mental image you have of your appearance.  And one of them is our entrainment therapy.

While you should strive to make your dreams come true,
concentrate, also, on yourself and your journey. When
you spend less time wishing things were different and
more time accepting what you've got, you've already
found a sense of peace and happiness right there.

Here are some tips that can help you become who you want
to be right now:

1. Feel gratitude. When you concentrate on the big picture,
it's easier to exhibit feelings of gratitude. When you're
grateful, you remain positive and appreciative of every
joyful moment in life.

- Sometimes people get too caught up in a sense of
entitlement, which leads to negative feelings. Concentrating
on gratitude, instead, will get you where you desire.

2. Be optimistic. Some say that life is all about optimism.
And it's true! An optimistic attitude is one of the few
things you need to succeed.

- If you're trying to achieve a concrete goal, optimism
will help you accomplish it.

- If you're trying to change your mindset, optimism will
make the task easier.

- Optimism can be the driving force that keeps you going.

3. Exhibit the traits you desire. It was Gandhi who said
that you should be the change you want to see in the world.

With these wise words in mind, you can replace wanting with
some bold action. With some persistence and perseverance,
you can make it happen.

4. Adopt a prosperous mindset. Take a moment to determine
what prosperity means to you. Are you hoping for money,
a fulfilling career, or a relationship that lasts a lifetime?

Know what you want, then adopt the right mindset. Once you
do, you've then set yourself in the right direction toward
your goals.

5. Find the silver lining. As you go through life, you will
no doubt realize that things are not always going to go your
way. But even in tough times you need to keep your chin up.

Instead of allowing negativity to consume your life, seek out
the silver lining. This fresh attitude can be the difference
between being held hostage and achieving your goals.

6. Take small steps. When the place you're going seems
far away and unachievable, it's important to break it
down into small steps.

Give yourself an achievable goal with a realistic time
frame. Break that one down into smaller goals.

- When you avoid getting overwhelmed, you'll gain the
confidence to persevere.

You're Already There

It's a good idea to practice one of these tips at a time
until you've incorporated them into your life. Perhaps
you can spend a week perfecting one strategy and, then the
next week, add another one to your repertoire while
continuing with the first one. Soon enough, you'll be
a natural at all of them!

Once you choose a powerful and positive mindset, you'll
find that you've already achieved much of what you want.

Just remember: You already have the traits, mindset, and
lifestyle you desire, and you know that success is
inevitable, but only when you have the will to break
through the obstacles in your mind

the extent to which your legacy will help you to
create and organize your goals, and boost your motivation
is going to depend upon how much detail you give to the
picture of your ideal life. This picture of your legacy
often develops over a long period of time, but you can get
a decent handle on it by thinking about the following
lifestyle components:

1) People - what kind of people do you value, feel
comfortable with, get excited about spending time with?

2) Passion - what is it about life that enlivens you and
fills you with energy?

3) Purpose - what is it that brings meaning to your life or
gives you a sense of fulfillment?

4) Responsibilities - what kinds of responsibilities are
you comfortable handling in your life, whether they be
personal, professional or spiritual?

5) Career - what manifestation of your abilities, purpose
and passion would best fulfill your career needs?

6) Values - your values are your needs and desires, ranging
from your most basic physical needs to those that dictate
your relationships with your friends, loved ones,
co-workers and the environment at large. What are your
values?

This list here certainly isn't exhaustive, but it's a good
start. Not only will it help you to fill out the picture of
your career, but the relationships you develop with your
self and your loved ones.  Because this picture you're
developing is your life's goal, I recommend, just as with
any goal, that you write it down. Or, if you are
artistically driven, you can draw it, paint it, sculpt it,
or make it physical in whatever way works best for you.
However you do it, don't allow your legacy to remain just
an idea! Your legacy will be much more motivating when you
can look it in the face each and every day.

Knowing that you have a purpose and that you are living
your purpose every day is a wonderful thing. It makes me
spring out of bed each morning, energized and excited! How
many people do you know that look forward to their day,
every day, in that way? So take the time to map out your
legacy today. You'll be giving yourself a path to personal
development with a purpose and that's a path to success!

happy with where you are."

Believe it or not, this mindset works! It may take some
changes and soul searching on your part, but in the end,
it'll be more than worth it to adopt this positive
mentality.

Once you identify your mental spectators - and your
interactions with them - you can move beyond victim and
assume the role of victor.

What it takes are eight steps for getting command, eight
steps you can apply to most any situation you want altered.
You can positively influence your relationships, your
employment options, any aspect of your life.
Let's look at the steps.

1. Define What Ails You.
Ask, what's my problem? Am I a jealous weasel, troubled
that others have what I want? Am I ticked off most of the
time? Am I sad and whiney? Anxiety ridden? Moody? All of
the above? Without this step, you're doomed. It will take
personal courage, but you won't get results without
identifying what ails you.

2. Discover the Effects.
Ask, how are my problems affecting my life? Am I a lousy
parent, a friendless dork, a backstabber, a slut, a drunk,
a junkie? Am I none of the above, but someone who is less
than I could be? This step requires absolute self-honesty,
but the truth will help set you free.

3. Seek the Source.
Ask, from where are my problems coming? Who are my real and
my mental spectators? What do my mental spectators look
like, say, and do? Exactly who or what is keeping me from
taking command of my life? This could be one of the most
incredible experiences of your life. You will look into the
abyss and see who is looking back.

4. Identify Your Role.
Ask, how am I contributing to my problems? What is my
responsibility in all this? Did I decide to be a garbage
disposal? Do I beat myself to death trying to please
others? Do I expect things of myself that are unfair? Do I
treat myself as a friend or an enemy?

Do I allow my mental spectators to drive me to distraction,
depression, anger, anxiety? Recognizing your role in your
own problems is a positive - but scary - step toward
knowing yourself and gaining personal command.

5. State Your Desires.
Ask, what do I specifically want to do about my problems?
Do I want to be a doormat, a slut, a drunk, a friendless
geek? Or do I want to rule my mental spectators? Do I want
to stand up to a spectator, real or imagined, who puts me
down? Do I want to take command of my education, my bank
account, my relationships?

Until you can actually list your desires in the order of
their importance, you will be a victim. However, once you
do this, you are on your way to being a victor.

6. Seek Options.
Ask, what are my options, and in what order should I place
them? What is the first option I should concentrate on? The
second one? The third? If you have a soul-sucking hangover
most mornings, you might opt to give up your booze buddies
for some real friends.

Secondly, take the money you normally spend at bars and
deposit it in a college fund for yourself or your kids.
If, instead, you're a workaholic and you want to spend
more time with your kids, then DO IT.

Very few people on their deathbed have said, "If I could
live life all over again, I'd spend more of it at work and
less with people I love." Choices are involved here, but by
weighing options and alternatives, and then making personal
choices, you are taking command. Do this and you'll begin
to gain real power.

7. Learn Winning Techniques.
Ask, how do I rule my real and my mental spectators? Must I
collapse in a heap when they point thumbs down? How can I
learn to take charge on every level and get a grip on my
life? There is no "magic" involved, but you might feel as
if there is. Unlike a vanquished gladiator falling at the
whim of spectators, you decide your own course.

8. Master Your Relationships.
Ask, what more can I do to master my relationships by
strengthening myself and my perceptions? How do I take
command right now in developing my own identification and
self-worth? Congratulations! You're working on the one
person in the entire world you can work on - YOU!

And any improvements in yourself can't help but enrich your
relationships with other people and the world around you.
Although this is only a brief overview of each of the eight
steps for jump-starting your relationships and taking
control of your life, you'd be amazed at how significant
the effects of a few minor adjustments in perception can be.

If you want to improve the concentration and focus of your mind, then you need to work out and exercise your brain. As we age, we may lose the ability to concentrate, but brain exercises can improve concentration even in older people. Brain exercises are excellent tools for people of any age who would like to strengthen their mind! Here are some great brain exercises that can help you build your brain: =========================== 1. Do some crossword puzzles. Not only are crossword puzzles a lot of fun, but they can help improve your concentration. Relying on your long-term memory and trying to solve tough questions help stimulate the brain. Taking only 15 minutes daily to work on crossword puzzles can benefit you. To keep a fresh supply of puzzles handy, you can buy a crossword puzzle book, check your daily newspaper, or look online to find them for free. =========================== 2. Changing your daily routine challenges your brain to do something that's outside your comfort zone. This can strengthen your problem solving abilities. Consider changing things by taking a different route to work one morning and then finding another on your way home. =========================== 3. Try Sudoku puzzles. These are number placement puzzles based on logic. You complete a 9x9 grid so that each row and each column only has numbers that range from 1-9. Within the grid, in each 3x3 block, a number can only be used once. Most definitely challenging! These puzzles are often found in daily newspapers, printed books, and online. =========================== 4. Eat foods that help your brain. Your brain will stay healthy and function at its best if nourished with nutritious foods. Proteins are great for the brain, and may be found in cheeses, meats, fish, and milk. Complex carbohydrates are important as well, and these carbs come from fruits, vegetables, and grains. The brain needs some fat, so don't shy away from healthy oils like olive oil or fish oils. Eat foods that include omega-3s, such as trout, salmon, and tuna, which are oily fish. Some nuts contain these fats as well and are healthy food for the brain. brain power,5. Start a new hobby. Trying a new hobby is another way to expand your interests and use your brain to learn something new. Being busy and learning new things expand the way the brain thinks and gets you out of a rut. Join a local club or take a class at a hobby store or community college. Challenging yourself and improving brain function is something that any person can do. Young and old alike can enjoy and benefit from these great techniques. Get your whole family in on the fun! Make just one change today to stimulate your brain. You won't notice any drastic changes overnight, but with time and practice, eventually you'll find that you can finish puzzles quicker, solve problems more easily, and enjoy improved concentration and focus.

Attention

You may have suffered from a lack of attention to the things around you for a long time or you might just find yourself in an environment where distractions are the norm. Whatever the case, your brain is actually changing when you are being distracted. And the more easily you're distracted one day, the more you will focus on distractions the next. Television is an excellent example of this. We focus on visual entertainment and our minds drop into a haze often referred to as "mind fog." And this fog can actually affect the way you behave in your environment. If you're one of those who finds themselves forgetting just how long they've been watching television or surfing the internet, you probably know what this mental fog can be like. Low alpha states of mental activity can be helpful in many circumstances, but in the case of things like television they can actually be detrimental if not checked or counterbalanced.
